BASIC SYNCHRONIZATION OF A ROOM THAT IS RACKED.

For the owner in the field:

Open both solenoid valves on the sync. cylinder for the room that is racked. INFO

Use the manual threaded retract rods or other device to retract the room. OR push the room in with help if necessary. INFO

Leave the manual threaded retract rods in place with the valves open and take the coach to a repair facility.

For the repair facility:

Remove manual threaded retract rods or other retract device and move both solenoid valve manual release cam levers to the valve closed position.

Remove any room trim as necessary, including the vinyl mechanism covers, to access mechanism rods, BOTH ENDS of the room. INFO

Check for any physical issues that may have caused the racking issue such as a hose issue/leak or some type of binding issue. Binding issue could be caused by a foreign object. Check for a screw or other object interfering with the movement of the chains or rack mechanism. Check for any damage to mechanism including racks, chains and rollers. INFO

Remove lower rod nut and lock washer from both mechanism cylinders. INFO

Push the room control switch to the “Room Extend” position and hold until both mechanism rods are fully retracted. Hold control switch to “Extend” for 10 seconds after the rods are fully retracted.

IMPORTANT: When extending mechanism cylinders (retracting the room), allowing the cylinder rods to hit the brackets may cause cylinder rod thread or mounting bracket damage.

Push the room control switch to the “Room Retract” position to extend the cylinder rods until one rod is within a couple inches of the rod mounting bracket. Be careful that neither rod hits a bracket causing damage. Rods may continue to extend slightly after releasing the room control switch.`

Push the room control switch to the “Room Retract” position to extend the cylinder rods. This time guide the rods into the mounting bracket holes make sure there is a lock washer on the top side of the bracket.

WARNING: USE EXTREME CAUTION TO MAKE SURE YOUR FINGERS ARE NOT BETWEEN THE END OF THE ROD AND MOUNTING BRACKET. SERIOUS INJURY TO YOUR FINGERS CAN OCCUR.

Install the lower rod mounting nut and lock washer. Extend and retract the room several times checking for synchronized operation. The ends of the room should run within 1 ½ inches of each other and should fully extend and retract against the room seals.

IMPORTANT: If either side of the room stops moving or if one side moves approximately 4 inches more that the other, release the room control switch immediately. Do not force the room into a bind. Damage to the vehicle or room mechanism can occur.

If the room does not run properly, repeat the above process. If the room still does not run properly, contact HWH Corporation technical service for assistance.
